Spain beat Portugal to win record 11th U19 Euro

Football

Ferran Torres scored either side of half-time to lead Spain to victory over Portugal in the UEFA Under-19 European Championship on Saturday night.

Torres netted a lovely volley in the 34th minute and then pounced on a wayward cross in the Portugal penalty area shortly after half-time to secure the win for Spain.

The win marks the 11th time that Spain, who also won the U21 edition earlier this summer, have won the U19 Euro, moving them ahead of England for the most titles all time at this particular youth level.
