Agencies Klutch, UTA partner to add sports wing

NBA

Klutch Sports Group, the Rich Paul-founded agency that has such clients as LeBron James and Anthony Davis, is partnering with United Talent Agency in Hollywood in a deal that adds a sports wing to the company.

The deal allows Klutch to keep its own branding while also operating under the United Talent umbrella as UTA Sports.

The agreement may also provide another outlet for sports stars to pursue media opportunities. James is set to star in “Space Jam 2” along with a number of NBA and WNBA stars, with filming expected to start this offseason.

James tweeted about the deal following its announcement Wednesday.

“We’ve been looking for the right sports opportunity for quite a while,” United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer told The New York Times. “We have taken a significant stake in Klutch, but Rich retains very substantial controls because we want it to be his business and we love what he’s doing.”

In tweeting about the deal, Klutch wrote, “Every move made is designed with our clients in mind.”
