Peru beat Chile 3-0 in a Copa America semifinals match to set up a date in the final with hosts Brazil.

The win on Wednesday at Gremio Arena gives Peru their first final appearance in the tournament since 1975 when they won it all.

The final will be a group stage rematch between the two sides, in which seven-times tournament winner Brazil beat Los Incas 5-0.

Peru took the lead in the 21st minute when Edison Flores was left unmarked in space at the back post and hammered a left-footed strike from Christian Cueva’s deflection into the back of Gabriel Arias’ net.

Yoshimar Yotun doubled the lead in the 38th minute when he capitalised on Arias leaving his line too early, drilling in a shot into an empty net.

Paolo Guerrero added a goal in stoppage time to give Peru their final on the night.

The final will occur next Sunday against Brazil, who defeated Argentina in the other semi, at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
