TOP STORY: Lloris to replace De Gea at Man United if he moves to PSG
Manchester United are ready to pay David De Gea a fee of £20m to leave the club now and join Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth around £60m, say the Sun.
The theory is that the £20m would compensate De Gea for the year left on his contract and allow a large transfer fee to be paid now, rather than United losing him on a free transfer next season. Sources have told ESPN that PSG are the main contenders to land him this summer.
Why United or PSG would be interested in doing this as opposed to waiting a year is beyond us, but the story also carries news that Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is the No. 1 alternative to replace the Spaniard should he depart.
Yes, Tottenham would require a transfer fee of around a similar amount, but United would at least get a quality replacement who has plenty of experience of playing in the Premier League. Sources have also said that Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak is being considered, but he would cost €120m.

09.23 BST: Inter Milan midfielder Radja Nainggolan insists he does not expect to leave the Serie A club this summer, even though Luciano Spalletti is no longer his coach.
“Spalletti is a special person for me and I’ve always been happy with him, but this will be something new for me now,” he said to Sky Italia. “I’ve always been at my clubs for a long time so it would be strange to leave Inter, a club who wanted me and who are trying to grow, after just one year. I’d like to grow with them. Let’s see what happens, but I’ve always been happy in the clubs I’ve been in and I hope to do the same with Inter. I’ve got three years on my contract and I’m relaxed about it.”
Nainggolan also said he is looking forward to working with new boss Antonio Conte: “Everybody’s said good things about him and that he’s quite tough and strict, but we’ll all be at his disposal.
“I’ve had plenty of good coaches and not so good coaches in my career and it happens that you like some people more than others, but I’m somebody who wants to win and if the club have decided to change, then clearly they have done so to improve.”
09.03 BST: Valencia coach Marcelino says he would like to continue coaching Rodrigo but there are no guarantees of that happening.
The Spanish forward is a reported target of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, though he is contracted to Los Che until June 2022 and has a €120m release clause.
“I see myself coaching him [Rodrigo] because he is a great footballer and very important to Valencia, ” Marcelino told Diario AS. “But I’m aware that the club and the player, if certain circumstances are met, can decide otherwise provided the situation of the transfer window is favourable to all parties.”
08.25 BST: Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes says his future isn’t known but that he will make a decision based on the “sporting project.” Fernandes, who won the UEFA Nations League trophy with Portugal on Sunday, is under contract with Sporting until June 2023 and has a €100m release clause.
The midfielder has attracted interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid after scoring 29 goals in all competitions this season, including 20 league goals.
“Regarding the future, there is still nothing,” Fernandes told Record. “I have to wait. I have dreams to fulfil. I don’t know if it will happen already next season. But I’m calm because I’m under contract with Sporting.
“I still don’t know of the interest of any club but it seems [rumours] that I’ve already been sold to five clubs. It will depend on the sporting project because from a financial standpoint between clubs of that level, it doesn’t make any difference. What will make the difference is the sporting project because I’m young and I want to win titles.”
08.00 BST: Netherlands defender Matthijs de Ligt said he was asked about a move to Italian champions Juventus by Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of Sunday’s Nations League final, in which Ronaldo’s Portugal triumphed 1-0.
TV images showed Juve forward Ronaldo having a chat with De Ligt at the end of the game and the Dutchman confirmed a possible move to the Italian side had been raised by the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“I didn’t understand him at first. I was a little shocked, so I laughed. But I didn’t say anything,” De Ligt told Dutch TV station NOS. “So soon after the game you are not at all concerned with it. You are disappointed that you have lost and that is the only thing you are thinking about.”
The 19-year-old Ajax defender — whose impressive season as an Eredivisie-winning captain and a Champions League semifinalist has led to interest from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United — said he had yet to make up his mind over his future and was in no hurry to do so.
“I don’t mind that,” he said. “The transfer period starts in a while, so I will first go on a nice vacation and rest. I will let it happen and then I will see,” he said.

Brazil youngster catches Barcelona’s attention
The Spanish champions are keeping tabs on Pedrinho, who is with Brazil’s under-22 side at the Toulon tournament in France.
The 21-year-old plies his trade for Corinthians in Brazil’s Serie A, and Sport claims he is no stranger to Barcelona’s scouting department, which has been keeping tabs on the forward for some time.
Despite wowing Camp Nou chiefs with his technical ability for both club and country, there are doubts over whether Pedrinho can thrive in a physical European league, and that has so far deterred the Catalan giants from making a bid.
But they are expected to enter negotiations with their Brazilian counterparts imminently, even if bracing for an expensive asking price.
Sarri finally set for Juve switch
Calciomercato claims Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will finalize his move to Juventus as early as next week, following decisive talks between the Italian and Chelsea bosses in Monaco over the weekend.
Sarri met with Blues director Marina Granovskaia, as well as owner Roman Abramovich, and it is claimed that a deal has been struck for the 60-year-old’s return to Serie A without Juventus having to pay any compensation. Reports claim there could be official communication from both clubs on the matter as early as Monday.
Sarri’s move to Turin leaves the future of Chelsea loanee Gonzalo Higuain in serious question. The Argentine striker has spent the past six months in the Premier League on loan from Juventus, but with the Serie A champions heavily stocked in the striking department, the 31-year-old could find himself looking for yet another new club ahead of the new season.
Belotti set to leave Torino
Italy striker Andrea Belotti could be allowed to leave Torino this summer, with Napoli and Roma heading the queue for the 25-year-old, according to reports in Calciomercato.
The Italian publication claims Roma have identified Belotti as the long-term replacement for Edin Dzeko, while Serie A runners-up Napoli see the former Palermo man as the ideal foil for fellow forwards Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne.
Signing Belotti won’t come cheap, however, with Torino willing to sell their side’s top scorer only for a minimum of €60m, which would almost double the transfer records of both sides leading the race for his signature.
Belotti’s end-of-season form is believed to have ignited interest among Torino’s Serie A rivals, having netted six goals in the final eight games of the Italian league season to lead his side to a seventh-place finish, narrowly missing a Europa League place.

– Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons could be set for a move to the Premier League after spending last season on loan at Spanish side Sevilla. L’Equipe reports the 30-year-old is attracting interest from Everton and West Ham despite struggling with injuries during his season in La Liga.
– Sky Sports News says West Ham are in talks with Marseille over a deal for French midfielder Morgan Sanson, whose future has come under question after the Ligue 1 club failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Wolves have also been offered the chance to sign the former France youth international.
