Madrid to continue raid with Pogba, offer Bale

Not content with having splashed the cash on just one Premier League star in the signing of Eden Hazard, Real Madrid have stepped up their efforts to bring Paul Pogba to the Bernabeu as well, according to The Mirror.

The player-plus-cash deal would see Gareth Bale heading the other way, but Madrid would still be required to fork out £130 million for Pogba. However, Bale’s substantial wage demands, reportedly over £600,000 per week, could make the deal less attractive for United.

The Welshman has been out of favour with Zinedine Zidane’s side in recent weeks, sitting on the bench for Madrid’s final game of the season, having been left out of the squad for the two games prior.

Real Madrid aren’t done in the summer splurge and still want to get Paul Pogba to the Bernabeu.

Spurs intercepting Fernandes transfer?

Should United lose Pogba to Madrid, their attention will turn to Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes, but Tottenham Hotspur have moved into pole position to sign the midfielder, Record reports

Fernandes’ excellent goalscoring record, scoring 32 goals in 53 appearances in 2018-19, made him one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe.

Now, Spurs are set to beat United to the 24-year-old’s signature as they seek to replace the Christian Eriksen, who has said he wants to leave the London club and has been linked with a €113 million deal to, who else, Real Madrid.

Ndombele a target for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are also lining up a £50 million move for Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, The Sun reports

The Frenchman has been likened to N’Golo Kante and had been a target for Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window, but Spurs are favourites to sign him.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side is long overdue a refresher in midfield, having not signed anyone for the last two season. Ndombele, only 22-years-old, has a price tag of £70m put on him by Lyon, but Spurs reckon they could sign him for less.

Remaining tight-lipped, Ndombele said: “I’ve told my agents and the club I’m not fixed and have not made a decision.”

Maddison wants to stay at Leicester, despite United interest

Manchester United are reportedly close to signing Leicester City’s James Maddison, whether he likes it or not, according to The Sun

In a prolific 2018-19 season for the Englishman, Maddison became the most creative player in the league, making more chances than any other player.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are said to be dead certs to sign Maddison, yet The Sun understands that he doesn’t want to leave King Power Stadium.

Whether his head will be turned by Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, or Tottenham Hotspur remains to be soon, who are all reportedly interested as well.

Tap-ins

– PSG have suggested they mean business in the Matthijs de Ligt transfer saga by setting aside a budget of £80 million to sign him from Ajax, £14 million more than what Barcelona are prepared to offer, Sport reports.  They’re also happy to offer him a huge five-year contract worth £13.3 million per season, more than double the £6m offered by Barcelona.

– PSG sporting director Leonardo is hoping to convince midfielder Adrien Rabiot that he has a future at the French club, amid reports that Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Real Madrid, and Juventus are keen on taking him away, le10sport reports. Thomas Tuchel is also keen to re-integrate him into the first squad, so he may be staying put.
