Popovich ejected from Spurs’ loss to Kings

NBA

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was ejected after arguing with officials in the third quarter of San Antonio’s 113-106 loss to the visiting Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

Popovich became upset after a ball went out of bounds and possession was given to Sacramento with 9 minutes, 4 seconds left in the third.

Replays showed that the ball came off the Kings’ Harrison Barnes after Derrick White blocked his shot.

Popovich received two technical fouls in quick succession and DeMar DeRozan attempted to separate his coach from the officials.

The game came one day after the Spurs earned their NBA-record 22nd consecutive playoff appearance after the Kings lost to the Houston Rockets on Saturday night.
