MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Golden State forward Jordan Bell has been suspended one game for “conduct detrimental to the team,” the Warriors announced Wednesday.
Bell will serve the suspension during Wednesday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The suspension comes as a surprise, given that Bell participated in the Warriors’ Tuesday night practice in Memphis and appeared to be in good spirits.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr did not want to get into specifics regarding the suspension prior to Wednesday’s game.
“The release was self-explanatory,” he said. “He was suspended for tonight’s game, conduct detrimental to the team. Beyond that, it’s our business, nobody else’s, so we’ll move on.”
Kerr added that he is not concerned about Bell’s maturity.
After a solid rookie season, Bell has struggled to find a consistent place in Kerr’s rotation.
Bell is averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds a game this season.
