New Orleans Pelicans guard Elfrid Payton joined an illustrious list of NBA greats Monday night by recording a triple-double in his fifth straight game.
Payton, a sixth-year NBA veteran, joined the likes of Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan to accomplish the feat, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Westbrook has done it four times, while Robertson did it three times and Chamberlain twice.
Payton, averaging 10.5 points, 7.3 assists and 5.4 rebounds this season, had 19 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds Monday night in a 129-125 overtime win at Dallas, which ended a six-game losing streak for New Orleans.
