Sources: Minnesota optimistic after Towns’ MRI

NBA

There is optimism about the MRI results on the right knee of Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns, sources tell ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Towns limped off the court of Minnesota’s 135-130 overtime victory over the Washington Wizards Saturday night in Minneapolis with less than 10 seconds to go in the fourth quarter.

The center was escorted to the locker room and did not play in overtime.

He finished with 40 points and 16 rebounds in 37 minutes.
