UFC No. 1 ranked lightweight contender Tony Ferguson took aim at Conor McGregor on Twitter, saying he’d love to connect his right hand to McGregor’s chin.
Ferguson’s tweet Tuesday indicated that he wants a shot at McGregor, although he referred to the former champion as a “Replica Of A Former Self.”

McGregor, who is suspended until April 6, tweeted a vague response in which he referred to himself as “Burger King.”
If we have the ability to go back, Tony. Then we have the ability to go forward again!
I wish you well and am praying for you as a fellow colleague.
Respect to my Paradigm familia.
Yours sincerely, Burger King. https://t.co/71YwROhTbo— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) February 26, 2019
Ferguson, who has never fought McGregor, responded with another shot, tweeting that McGregor is more like a “Dairy Queen.”
Ferguson and McGregor were on the same card — but didn’t fight each other — at UFC 229, when McGregor fought lightweight title holder Khabib Nurmagomedov. That fight, and its aftermath, led to the suspension of both McGregor and Nurmagomedov, leaving Ferguson as the top-rated available fighter in the division.
Ferguson (24-3) has won 11 straight matches dating back to 2014, his latest coming with a TKO of Anthony Pettis on Oct. 6.
McGregor (21-4), has posted videos of himself training as he’s only fought once since 2016 — the loss to Nurmagomedov in a lightweight title fight.
