Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is out for at least a week with left knee soreness, the team announced Wednesday.
An MRI revealed no structural damage, so he will undergo treatment and be evaluated in a week, the team said in a statement.
Embiid is averaging 27.3 points, 13.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks for the Sixers this season. He played 23 minutes in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday.
The Sixers, 37-21 and currently sitting in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, host Miami on Thursday and Portland on Saturday afternoon. Then they hit the road for New Orleans on Monday and Oklahoma City a week from Thursday.
The Sixers also said guard Furkan Korkmaz tore his meniscus during the team’s game against Boston last week. Treatment including knee surgery is being considered.
Korkmaz is averaging 5.8 points and 14.2 minutes per game.
