76ers’ Butler to see specialist for sprained wrist

NBA

Philadelphia 76ers guard Jimmy Butler is seeing a specialist for his sprained right wrist, the team said Friday.

Coach Brett Brown said Butler’s visit in Los Angeles is “precautionary.”

Butler has missed the Sixers’ past two games and is doubtful for Saturday’s game in Denver.

In addition to the ailing Butler, Philadelphia will open a four-game West Coast road trip without All-Star center Joel Embiid, who is being held out of an expected showdown against Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic due to planned rest.

The 76ers have won two straight and five of their past six ahead of an eight-game stretch that sees the team play the Nuggets and Lakers twice each, as well as the Warriors, Kings, Raptors and Celtics.
