The transfer window for Europe’s biggest clubs is open again. Transfer Talk has been scouring the world’s media and setting our correspondents loose to see who could be heading to/out of your club this month.
Leipzig consider sale of Liverpool target Timo Werner
Speaking to Kicker, Oliver Mintzlaff, the Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull GmbH who own RB Leipzig, commented that the club won’t let Timo Werner‘s contract run into its final year.
The striker’s current deal expires in 2020 and the club will either convince the player to sign a new contact or sell him.
This could alert a number of clubs who may believe that a deal can be done this January if the right offer is put on the table.
“A club like ours cannot afford to have Timo Werner go into a final contract year,” Mintzlaff said.
Liverpool have been linked heavily with the player in recent years, and the sale of Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth and further possible departures could open a space in the squad for the more versatile Werner.
Gerrard’s Gers want Liverpool keeper
Scottish Premiership side Rangers want to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, that’s according to the Daily Express.
Steven Gerrard’s side are joint top of the league with rivals Celtic, and are looking to improve this month in an attempt to push for the title.
The former midfielder has already signed a number of Liverpool players during his time in Scotland, and will now return to the Anfield club for Grabara.
It would be a good opportunity for the Pole who played in Gerrard’s youth teams at Liverpool but is yet to make his senior debut. Jurgen Klopp’s side currently have Simon Mignolet as their second choice behind Alisson, so there would be no way in for Grabara as it stands.
The highly rated 19-year-old would initially move on loan, but if Gerrard has long-term plans he might look for a permanent deal.
Arsenal lead race for Suarez
A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, but according to Sky Italia and Catalan radio outlet RAC1, Arsenal are the favourites to sign him.
The North London club are still in the early stages of their development under Spanish boss Unai Emery, but they have shown flashes of brilliance especially in attack.
Italian sides AC Milan and Roma have also shown interest, as well as Everton and West Ham, but Arsenal would be the most attractive option for the 24-year-old who doesn’t get much first team action at the Camp Nou.
Suarez played under Emery at Sevilla and it would seem like the ideal move for the player and club.

Pepe to Porto — 4.8
The former Real Madrid defender is a free agent after his contract with Turkish side Besiktas was terminated in a mutual agreement in December. He will now return to another of his former sides, Porto, according to Goal.
Cengiz Under to Arsenal — 4.1
The only possible destination for Roma’s Turkish winger at the moment is Arsenal. Turkish outlet Fotomac say the Gunners have a £55m offer on the table for the player, and are the only club to have made one.
Marko Rog to Schalke — 2.9
The Napoli midfielder is on his way to the Bundesliga according to reports in Italy, and from Kicker in Germany. The deal will initially be a loan, with an option to buy in the summer.
Antonio Valencia to Inter Milan – 2.5
The 33-year-old right back is out of contract at the end of the season, and Inter are interested according to Sky Italia. New Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to like him though, and could keep him around until his contract expires.
Kalidou Koulibaly to Barcelona — 2.2
The Senegalese centre-back is attracting interest from across Europe, and Barcelona have added him to their list of defensive targets according to Italian outlet Il Mattino. The 27-year-old is in his peak years and is likely to cost well over £100m.
