Trevor Williams got mistaken for Bryce Harper and had some fun with it

Given a choice, should you correct somebody who mistakes you for somebody else, or go with their wrong impression? We’ve probably all been there at one time or another. But when Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams was confused for Bryce Harper, the All-Star slugger who’s this winter’s most in-demand free agent while dining out, he let the world on Twitter know that he had some fun with the situation:

Bryce HarperNow, it might be a little bit of a stretch — not everybody with a big fuzzy beard should be mistaken for Harper, a member of ZZ Top, or one of the Soggy Bottom Boys from the Coen Brothers classic 2000 musical comedy, “O Brother Where Art Thou?” But how often does a major league player get mistaken for one of the biggest stars in the game?

Williams had some fun with the situation. Whether he’s wearing a beard or not, he may be dining on that story for years to come.
