Free pizza and a win? Portuguese side FC Famalicao buy pizzas for away fans

Football

Fans of Portuguese side FC Famalicao enjoyed a memorable evening on Monday after watching their team zip to the top of the table with a win, as well as enjoying an added bonus at half-time.

Those Famalicao supporters who travelled to Academica to watch the 1-0 victory were rewarded with complimentary pizzas at the interval, all paid for and laid on by their club as a show of gratitude.

As such, Famalicao club executives bought roughly 60 pizzas and had them given out to fans in the away section at the Coimbra stadium.

The pizzas were duly devoured before Famalicao snatched a dramatic late win thanks to a 95th-minute own-goal from Academica defender Ze Castro.

Despite the unfortunate defeat on the pitch, Academica proved themselves winners off it by confirming that they donated all the left over catering food from the VIP area to a local homeless charity. Lovely stuff.
