Eubanks moving to bantamweight from flyweight

Sijara Eubanks is moving up to bantamweight.

Eubanks (4-2), who missed weight by 1.2 pounds prior to her UFC 230 fight against Roxanne Modafferi, has decided to compete at 135 pounds in her next fight, her manager, Ali Abdelaziz, told ESPN.

A failed weight cut also cost Eubanks a shot at the flyweight title last December, after she made it to the finals of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

Eubanks was briefly scheduled to fight for the 125-pound belt again at UFC 230 last month against Valentina Shevchenko. However, the fight was eventually scrapped, in small part due to the negative feedback the booking received. The decision proved to be a wise one on the UFC’s end after she failed to make weight prior to the replacement fight versus Modafferi, which she won via unanimous decision.

Eubanks, according to Abdelaziz, doesn’t have her next fight booked yet.
