Kerr: Curry ‘dying to play,’ will return Saturday

NBA

Warriors guard Stephen Curry will be back on the court Saturday for Golden State’s game against the Pistons in Detroit, coach Steve Kerr said.

But Curry will not play Thursday against the East-leading Raptors in Toronto. He returned to practice earlier this week, but Kerr said trainer Rick Celebrini advocated being extra cautious and giving their star two more days of rest.

“He wants to play. He’s ready to play. … He’s dying to play,” Kerr said. “But caution is the word of the day.”

Curry has missed 10 games since suffering a groin injury against the Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 8.

Forward Draymond Green will also miss Thursday’s game against the Raptors, Kerr said. Green will be out at least a couple of more games as he recovers from a toe injury.
