UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich suffered a broken orbital bone after being attacked, her manager, Brian Butler-Au, confirmed to ESPN on Monday morning. Ostovich was taken to a hospital in Hawaii for treatment and has recently been released.
The news was first reported by TMZ.
Ostovich, 27, is 4-4 in her professional career and 1-1 in the UFC. She joined the promotion in 2017, defeating Karine Gevorgyan by first-round submission last December. She returned in July against Montana De La Rosa but lost by third-round submission.
The Honolulu, Hawaii, native was set to fight Paige VanZant (7-4) on Jan. 19 in the first card ever on ESPN. Right now it is unclear whether Ostovich will be able to return by that date.
