Toss: New Zealand chose to bat v Pakistan

On a hot November afternoon and what looks like a flat track, New Zealand opted to set a total for Pakistan to chase. Looking to come back from a whitewash in the T20I series, they made a number of changes with George Worker, Trent Boult, Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls all starting.

Pakistan’s side is much more settled, with only one notable change: the inclusion of Imam-ul-Haq at the top of the order. The three-pronged pace attack of Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali and Junaid Khan meant Faheem Ashraf was squeezed out, with Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Hafeez Pakistan’s all-round options.

Pakistan will be looking to snap an 11-match losing streak against New Zealand stretching back four years.

Pakistan: 1 Imam-ul-Haq, 2 Fakhar Zaman, 3 Babar Azam, 4 Shoaib Malik, 5 Mohammad Hafeez, 6 Sarfraz Ahmed (capt & wk), 7 Imad Wasim, 8 Shadab Khan, 9 Hasan Ali, 10 Shaheen Afridi, 11 Junaid Khan

New Zealand: 1 Colin Munro, 2 George Worker, 3 Kane Williamson (capt), 4 Tom Latham (wk), 5 Ross Taylor, 6 Henry Nicholls, 7 Colin de Grandhomme, 8 Tim Southee, 9 Trent Boult, 10 Lockie Ferguson, 11 Ish Sodhi
