Davis (elbow) back vs. Warriors; Pels lose again

NBA

Pelicans star Anthony Davis was back in the starting lineup after a two-game absence, but New Orleans fell 131-121 to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.

Davis was held out of the Pelicans’ past two games because of a sprained right elbow. He played 41 minutes and scored 17 points on 6-of-16 shooting to go with 12 rebounds and seven assists.

Head coach Alvin Gentry said he expects Davis to play Thursday in Portland, even though it is the second game of a back to back.

After opening the season 4-0, New Orleans has lost three straight.
