Another good weekend for the column with Eden Hazard obliging at 5/1 to score first against Liverpool, while Leicester also landed odds of 2/1 by beating Newcastle. The Champions League is back this week with Tottenham’s clash with Barcelona among the highlights.

The Banker
Tottenham will fancy their chances when they entertain Barcelona on Wednesday, with the Catalan outfit winless in their last three matches. Since beating PSV on matchday one the Blaugrana have drawn with Girona and Athletico Bilbao at Camp Nou, while also losing 2-1 at lowly Leganes. Spurs, of course, drew 1-1 in the Bernabeu last season before beating Real Madrid 3-1 at Wembley so know they can compete with Europe’s elite and given Barca’s recent domestic struggles Mauricio Pochettino’s men look a big price here at 5/2. Tottenham were excellent against Inter Milan but lost concentration late on and somehow ended up snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in Italy. They’ve rebounded well since however and look a tempting price to pile further misery on Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde.
Selection: £2 on Tottenham to win at 5/2 with bet365.
The Tasty Treble
Manchester City (2/5) need a positive result when they travel to Hoffenheim following their shock defeat to Lyon and can get back on track by winning in Germany. Sergio Aguero scored goal No. 148 of his Premier League career at the weekend and he can help Pep Guardiola’s men to victory on Tuesday. Elsewhere backing Liverpool at 23/20 could be the way to go when the Reds head to Napoli. Jurgen Klopp’s side played well in drawing 1-1 at Chelsea and were excellent on their European travels last season. Mo Salah has yet to hit the heights of last term but the resurgence of Daniel Sturridge has been a massive plus and he could feature at the San Paolo. Add in Lyon at 17/20 to see off Shakhtar Donetsk at home for a Champions League treble paying better than 9/2 with bet365.
Selection: £3 on the treble at 4.56/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager
Bayern Munich and Ajax, two giants of the European game, clash in Germany on Tuesday in what promises to be an entertaining encounter. Both teams won their opening Group E fixtures and while preference is for Bayern to get the win on home soil, we should at least see a few goals at the Allianz Arena.
Selection: £2 on Bayern Munich to win and both teams to score at 11/8 with bet365.
The Wildcard Tip
Manchester United have really been struggling in recent weeks so would it honestly be that much of a surprise to see them turned over by Valencia at Old Trafford? The Red Devils have made their worst start to a season in 29 years and it seems clear that the players are not buying into what Jose Mourinho wants from them. Mourinho looks a shadow of his former self and it’s difficult to see how the ‘Special One’ can possibly turn things around under the circumstances. They looked disorganised and out of ideas in losing 3-1 against West Ham at the weekend and if they throw in another insipid display this week Valencia, who are 5/1 for the win, could capitalise.
Selection: £1 on Valencia to win at 5/1 with bet365.
