Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Chris Conte has been placed on injured reserve after aggravating his knee injury during Monday night’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Conte, who had started all three games for the Bucs this season, was injured when he was stiff-armed to the ground by the Steelers’ Vance McDonald on a 75-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger in the first quarter.
Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said there’s a chance that Conte, who has 14 tackles, could return this season.
Early last week, Conte said he was going to try to play through the knee injury by wearing a brace.
