Cody Garbrandt broke his right hand in his first-round loss to TJ Dillashaw last Saturday night in Los Angeles.
According to Garbrandt’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, “No Love” suffered the injury early in the UFC 227 main event, though it’s unclear exactly when. He is waiting to find out if the injury will require surgery.
Dillashaw defeated Garbrandt, his former teammate at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, Calif., via TKO at 4:10 of the first round to retain the UFC bantamweight title. The victory came nine months after Dillashaw knocked out Garbrandt to win the 135-pound title at UFC 217.
Prior to the consecutive losses, Garbrandt had won the first 11 fights of his professional career.
