The fight between Tevin Farmer and Billy Dib for the vacant junior lightweight world title will be available in the United States.
When Farmer and Dib meet on Friday at Technology Park in the Sydney, Australia, suburb of Eveleigh, the bout will stream live in the United States via ESPN+ after the company, as part of its deal with Top Rank, acquired the American broadcast rights, ESPN announced Monday.
The stream will begin at approximately 6:15 a.m. ET and will include touted junior middleweight prospect Tim Tszyu (9-0, 7 KOs), who will face Stevie Ongen Ferdinandus (27-15-1, 14 KOs), 37, of Indonesia, in a 10-rounder. Tszyu, 23, of Australia, is the son of Hall of Fame former junior welterweight world champion Kostya Tszyu and widely considered one of his country’s top up-and-comers. The Farmer-Dib main event will not begin before 7:30 a.m. ET.
Philadelphia’s Farmer (25-5-1, 5 KOs), a southpaw who turned 28 on Monday, and Australia’s Dib (43-4, 24 KOs), 32, a former featherweight world titlist, are fighting for the 130-pound belt that was left vacant when Japan’s Kenichi Ogawa, who controversially outpointed Farmer for the vacant title in December in Las Vegas, was stripped earlier this year because of a failed drug test related to the bout.
