It didn’t take long for the UFC to find Glover Teixeira a new opponent for July 22.
A day after Texeira’s original opponent, Ilir Latifi, withdrew from their fight last week due to an injury, the promotion immediately booked Teixeira versus Corey Anderson for UFC Fight Night in Hamburg, Germany, ESPN confirmed with multiple sources following a report from Combate. The UFC officially announced the change Wednesday.
Teixeira (27-6) is coming off a first-round TKO of Misha Cirkunov in December. Anderson (10-4) most recently defeated Patrick Cummins via unanimous decision in April.
The event will be headlined by Mauricio Rua versus Anthony Smith.
