TossZimbabwe chose to bowl v Pakistan
In the opening game of the tri-series, newly appointed Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza put Pakistan in on a surface that looked like it would improve as the game went on. Zimbabwe benched Chris Mpofu and Malcom Waller, but besides that, opted for experience in what is already a severely depleted squad to choose from.
Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, who admitted he would have preferred to bowl first too, went for an almost full-strength side. The only exception to that was Mohammad Amir being rested, with Usman Khan played instead. Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez are at the top of the order, with Mohammad Nawaz also coming in.
