Chisora vs. Takam set for July 28

Boxing

Dereck Chisora and Carlos Takam will meet on July 28 on the undercard of the Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker.

Chisora (28-8, 20KOs), who lost a European title fight to Agit Kabayel in Nov. 2017, last fought back in March against Zakaria Azzouzi, a fight which the Brit won via TKO.

Takam (35-4-1, 27 KOs) lost to Anthony Joshua in Oct. 2017 and this is his first fight back since the defeat.

“I’m delighted to get another big heavyweight clash over the line for July 28 — this is a great fight,” said promoter Eddie Hearn.

“For Del Boy, it’s a real last chance saloon at world level and for Takam it’s a chance to push for another world title shot after a strong showing against AJ.”

The bout joins an already loaded card for July 28, with Kell Brook taking on Brandon Cook while Katie Taylor defends her two world titles against Kimberley Connor.

Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medallist Joshua Buatsi also takes on seasoned competitor Ricky Summers in what is regarded as a good step up for the former Team GB fighter.
