The Rugby Football Union is set to announce up to 100 redundancies in the next month.
According to reports in the Telegraph, the RFU could cut jobs within the governing body from 570 to 500 by the end of July.
The outcome will depend on the results of an internal review currently being conducted and could result in the brutal cost-cutting exercise.
It is reported that the cost cuts are needed because of the drastic expansion ahead of the World Cup earlier this year.
Employees will be told by June 30 if they are to be made redundant by the RFU.
