Expansion club Austin FC selected Daniel Pereira, a midfielder from Virginia Tech, first in the MLS SuperDraft, with Wake Forest forward Calvin Harris taken second by FC Cincinnati.

Pereira, a 20-year-old from Roanoke, Virginia, had six goals and 26 assists across two seasons for the Hokies.
